TE21 Series 3
The Red Triangle! What we have here is a vehicle not found in SA very often, and rather rare all over the world.
This 1965 Alvis series 3 has loads of history, and files upon files to corroborate this. She has been with the same family in South Africa since 1975 and was partially restored many years ago.
Her interior appears to be all original as per the pictures and presents well. The electrics and gauges all function as intended. The gear selector is quite special and not that common.
Mechanically she is good. A recent carburettor rebuild along with a proper service and some hydraulic pipes being replaced as well as steering pump rebuild has her looking and running good without issues. And not leaking all that much oil anymore!
She starts on the turn of the key and the electric choke was also enabled again.
The factory original 3.0L straight 6 engine sounds like the day she left the factory. The automatic Borg Warner transmission selects effortlessly and without issues.
The bodywork and paint is not perfect. She has some areas showing minor rust, which would need to be looked at sooner than later. Her paintwork presents well after a recent detailing and paint correction by Grit.
This iconic shape, designed by Graber of Switzerland, which has been confused with early Aston Martins’ and Ferraris’, just works and remains beautiful through all the years.
She is in fairly original condition as per the photos and she starts and runs well.
A must see for collectors and enthusiasts of these British cars.
All paperwork is in order and up to date. All history files present with the vehicle.
