“These are not seen often and even less are put up for sale. A first generation Harper Sports Car in original format, and unused in the last 8 years, this is a cool car to own.
Built in Cape Town by the infamous Craig Harper who has tremendous racing history and wanted to deliver proper sports cars, he accomplished his mission and Harper Sports Cars are still going strong.
This early example runs very well after a recent service and dyno tune. She produces 121hp and 141nm of torque with a mild tune. The Dictator management system was installed and tuned by the best – Richys Service Centre.
Mechanically the naturally aspirated Toyota 4AGE engine and manual transmission is in great condition. She starts on the push of a button and runs strong. We do not have all the particulars of the build from back then, but it appears as if almost nothing was changed, and everything works.
The body and paint is in good condition and all in tact. Some blemishes and chips, but presents well. She was polished up recently.
The interior is basic, as expected from a race car. All electricals are fully functional.
An ideal Hillclimb car or just a fun toy to own! And yes, she is roadworthy and all paperwork is in order. She is road legal and can be used wherever.
