This Cadillac Sedan has a full history going back to brand new, and is in original format, which includes the paintwork!
Bought new by Mr Trichard in Middelburg on 21 May 1947, he kept this car as his pride and joy for many, many years. The vehicle then, after being meticulously maintained, changed hands and was sold to Mrs Corlett from Witbank who has owned the car up to today! This is very, very special. A 2 owner car for the past 75 years.
We have a ledger in the vehicle detailing services and maintenance carrier out, all handwritten, and she was never taken off the road since new!
The paintwork, which recently underwent a detailing and correction to preserve the originality has changed her appearance! Many years of swirls and contamination was successfully removed and corrected. The left front fender has seen paintwork and the rest of the car appears all original.
As for the interior, this is original. The drivers side of the seat shows wear and tear but we believe this adds to the history and originality of the vehicles. As many older folks do, when we got the car there were carpets on top of carpets to protect the original carpets!
Mechanically she is literally unreal. The V8 engine is in perfect condition. She start on the turn every single time and purrs as she gently idles along! The automatic transmission effortlessly changes between gears. This is the ultimate cruiser!
Gems like these are true time capsules and very rarely found. This beautiful example is reluctantly being put up for sale.
