The Beginning
At a young age, our founder developed a genuine appreciation for cars. That interest turned into action with the purchase and daily driving of a Mini. It was the first step in what became a lifelong relationship with automobiles.
At a young age, our founder developed a genuine appreciation for cars. That interest turned into action with the purchase and daily driving of a Mini. It was the first step in what became a lifelong relationship with automobiles.
After selling the Mini, our founder began buying and selling vehicles, starting with a car known as Tok Tokkie. This phase marked the transition from enthusiasm to intent, laying the foundation for a deeper understanding of the automotive trade.
In 2011, our founder started selling Ford trucks on behalf of clients, responding to growing demand in the market. This period sharpened commercial experience and established a strong footprint within the Ford segment as the brand gained momentum locally.
As experience grew, the business evolved from third-party sales to direct buying and selling. This shift led to the founding of Wat Swaai Jy, representing a move toward independence and a more hands-on, accountable approach to the market.
With time, the business expanded beyond Ford, broadening its scope to include a diverse range of vehicles. This evolution culminated in the transition to Vintage Cars South Africa (VCSA), reflecting a more focused commitment to heritage vehicles and long-term growth.
The acquisition of Summerbrooke Estate, now home to VCSA, marked a defining chapter in the journey. With a clear vision for continued expansion, the business remains rooted in passion, discipline, and a deep respect for the classic and vintage car world.
VCSA isn’t just about buying and selling , it’s about belonging.
