What a beautiful old Mercedes.

This 1966 Mercedes-Benz 230S Fintail is an older restoration that presents superbly inside and out.

The body appears to have been professionally repainted in its original colour and presents beautifully overall. The chrome work is clean, the body is free from visible rust, and the engine bay has been finished with tasteful chrome accents.

The interior is exceptional and, from what we understand, remains largely original, including the seats, roof lining and door cards. There is age-related wear, as expected, but no tears. The seats have recently been treated and remain smooth and clean.

Air conditioning has been fitted, together with an upgraded radio concealed inside the cubby and speakers mounted beneath the seats. Importantly, the original radio remains in place.

Mechanically, approximately R50,000 has recently been spent on the car, with the supporting invoice available. It has also been serviced and given a thorough once-over. The matching-numbers engine starts on the turn, runs beautifully and is paired with the desirable factory automatic transmission.

The steering box has recently been redone, all electrical systems are working, and the factory gauges remain functional. It also retains its original tools, spare wheel and jack.

The car was previously stored in a temperature-controlled garage with a permanent dehumidifier before relocating to Pretoria three years ago. It now sits on new tyres and is ready to be driven and enjoyed.

Good, honest W111 Fintails in this condition are becoming increasingly difficult to find. This is a beautifully preserved example, priced realistically and offering tremendous classic Mercedes-Benz character.
